Looking for an Answer: The Chiefs Pursuit of a Quarterback
The Kansas City Chiefs will be visiting with NFL Draft prospect Ryan Tannehill this week during a private workout. The Chiefs want to bring in talent at the quarterback position, a position that hasn’t seen a good field general since 2005 in Trent Green.
Could the Chiefs pick Tannehill? Signs point to no. The most obvious reason that they will not pick up the talented quarterback is because of where they land in the draft order. The Chiefs have the 11th overall pick which is pretty high but when you look at other teams before them, you will see that they will looking Tannehill’s way as well.
Expect Tannehill to either land with the Cleveland Browns or the Miami Dolphins. Both draft before the Chiefs and they both feel they are not solid at the position.
The Chiefs focused a lot of their energy this offseason on the offense and picked up some great talent in Peyton Hillis and Eric Winston. This gives them a lot more freedom to choose glaring needs on the defensive side. Specifically at the Defensive Tackle and Linebacker positions.
The Chiefs will probably look for a quarterback at a later round. Early, expect them to get talent on Defense.
